Spice girl, author, fashion designer, and wife to David Beckham – all in one lifetime. Victoria Beckham has proven herself to be quite the multi-tasker, parlaying her success as a band member of one of world’s best-selling girl groups of all time, into a an ever-growing fashion empire.
When Posh Spice first appeared on the scene, the public agreed she was the fashionable one of the group that would go on hiatus at the turn of the new millennium. Post Spice Girls she dipped her toes into fashion as a Roberto Cavalli model, preceded by a London fashion week runway appearance. The Brit, who married then-football player David Beckham in 1999, first tried her hand at design in the year 2004. At that point in time, low rise rhinestone-encrusted denims defined the Victoria Beckham fashion aesthetic.
Things took a more serious turn when Beckham launched a line of ready-to-wear in 2008 , which unlike most fashion labels produced by celebrities, was well-received by fashion critics. At present, the Victoria Beckham brand boasts a collection of ready-to-wear, shoes, and accessories, under the creative supervision of the mother of four.
As the fashion entrepreneur has made it clear she won’t be part of a Spice Girl reunion in the foreseeable future, she’ll be dedicating time to her eponymous brand’s next addition instead: cosmetics. In a February Instagram post the Victoria Beckham founder announced she’s set her sights on the billion dollar industry of make-up products. The line of cosmetics – which release is scheduled for fall 2019 – will be cruelty-free and available at an accessible price point, per Mrs. Beckham. Only time will tell when that first men’s collection drops.
